Brian Henderson, Minister
Brian Henderson was born and raised in Toms River, NJ. Brian completed his undergraduate degree at the Center for Urban Theological Studies (Philadelphia, PA) and Eastern University (St. Davids, PA). Upon completing his graduate degree in seminary, Brian served a congregation near Valley Forge, PA, for nearly 10 years before moving to Colorado in 2008 where he served as Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Denver. In 2009, Brian completed a doctoral degree in family systems theory from Palmer Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. Brian loves spending time with his three children and enjoys all things fun. Brian began as minister of FBCD in November of 2012.

Eric Reagan, Minister of Music & Organist
Eric Reagan grew up near the Great Smoky Mountains in Knoxville, TN. He works to live out a varied calling to education, music, and pastoral ministry and is currently on the teaching staff of Contemporary Learning Academy on Capitol Hill. Eric, Dean of the Denver Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, brings a wide range of experience to FBCD. Eric has been a local pastor, music teacher and most recently, Director of Music Ministries and Organist at Mountain View Church in Kingsport, TN. In his down time, Eric enjoys taking road trips and indulging in crafty things such as stained glass and woodworking. Eric began his role at FBCD in January of 2013.

Jonathan Barbe, Wedding Coordinator
Jonathan Barbe was born in Dallas, TX, raised in Fairway, KS, and resided in Overland Park, KS, before moving to the Capitol Hill area of Denver, CO, in August of 2015. Jon attended Baylor University in Waco, TX. Jon is happy to have joined the FBCD staff near the end of summer 2015. When not working at the church, Jon is a professional photographer. He has a strong passion for photography and is always happy when his camera is in his hand.

Shirley Howson, Office Manager
Shirley Howson grew up on a farm in Nicholson, PA, a small town nestled in the Endless Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Business at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Decades later, she attended Colorado State University, Denver campus for her post-graduate degree in Organizational Management. In between, she enjoyed a long and successful career as an event manager, meeting planner, retail store manager and occasional magazine writer with a variety of companies throughout the country. She and husband Craig moved to Denver for the second time in July 2016. She spends her free time exploring her Capitol Hill neighborhood on foot, volunteering at the Denver Botanic Gardens and hiking in the mountains. She joined the FBCD staff in January 2017.

Ken Johnson, Building Manager
Ken Johnson has enjoyed a long and rich history as a member of FBCD staff, beginning in the 1990’s with his responsibilities as the Director of Music/Business Manager. He left in February of 2000 only to return in 2011 to help the church move forward when it lost its pastor. During that time, he cared for this historic building and prepared it for many of its current residents. He left again in 2015 and returned once more in June 2017.
Soe “Charlie” Thein, Custodian
Soe Thein was born in Myeik, Taninthayi Division, a small fishing village off the southern coast of Burma (now Myanmar). The first of six children (and the only boy), Soe grew up helping his grandfather build houses in town. As a young student, Soe fought for democracy as part of the All Burma Student’s Democratic Front (ABSDF). He also served for 11 years in the Army where he was trained as a medic. He arrived in the US in 2002 as a refugee and became a US citizen in 2010. He came to FBCD in November 2017. His generosity and gentle spirit fill the building with joy.
Amanda Hayden, Custodian
A Denver native, Amanda Hayden has been a part of the FBCD family since she was a little girl when she attended services with her grandparents, Ken and Shirley Johnson. She recalls that some of her happiest memories were attending church with her grandparents and running around the church with her friends. Now, she looks forward to bringing her own two children here to make their own memories. Amanda began her role at FBCD in June 2017.
